This week in our Houghton Mifflin program, we're reading
The Secret Code, about a little boy who is blind and uses Braille to read. My second year teaching I had a student who was (well, she still is) blind, so I made this worksheet so my students could become familiar with how she read.

What a great idea! We already did this story but I will save it for next year. Thanks for the terrific share.

Finally in First
We do the same activity with a slight addition - there is a second grid for each name where the children glue flat lentils for the real braille effect. They LOVE it!
That is an awesome idea!
Thanks Jenn and Tommy! Janice I love the idea of using lentils. So fun - Thanks!
